1. Operator and scope
ThreadPage is provided by Nazarii Olehovych Leus, an individual entrepreneur registered in Ukraine, trading as ThreadPage.
Ukrainian taxpayer identification number (RNOKPP): 3591414557
Registered business address: 32 Shkilna Street, Apartment 7, Bershad, Haisynskyi District, Vinnytsia Region, 24400, Ukraine.
Contact: [email protected]
Website: thread.page
“We”, “us” and “our” mean this operator or, after a transfer described in this section, the new operator. “You” means the individual using ThreadPage or an organisation that individual is authorised to represent.
These Terms govern access to our website, web application and associated services. Our Privacy Policy explains personal-data processing; our Refund Policy forms part of these Terms. Accepting these Terms does not give consent to optional analytics or unrelated marketing.
For a purchase through Paddle, the Paddle entity identified at checkout or in your receipt is the authorised reseller and merchant of record. Its Buyer Terms govern your purchase from Paddle. We supply ThreadPage, and these Terms are the supplier terms that, under Paddle’s Buyer Terms, govern your use of it. Paddle handles the transaction, including payment, taxes, invoices and payment disputes. These Terms do not replace Paddle’s contract or reduce protections that applicable law makes mandatory.
If ThreadPage moves to a new operator. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to a company or other organisation that takes over ThreadPage, including a company we set up to operate it. The new operator takes over all our obligations to you under the versions of these Terms and the Refund Policy you accepted, including any prepaid period, your refund and withdrawal rights and the protection of your content, and the transfer does not otherwise change these Terms or reduce your rights. We tell you at least 30 days before the transfer, by email if you have an account, who the new operator is and when the transfer takes effect, and the Privacy Policy explains what happens to your personal data. If you do not want to continue with the new operator, you may end your contract before the transfer or within 30 days after it, free of charge, and receive a refund of any prepaid period you will not use; you can export your content at any time.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into these Terms. If acting for an organisation, you must have authority to do so. These requirements also apply when you sign in to join a shared place, and you must not give a person under 18 access to a shared place you own. We do not verify age. If we learn that a person under 18 has an account, we may restrict or close it.
Where we ask you to accept these Terms, we identify the version and provide access to the full text before the acceptance action. Your affirmative action applies to that version, together with any document expressly incorporated into it. We keep a record of the version, the acceptance action and the time of acceptance. An account record does not mean that we have evidence you accepted an earlier version.
Merely visiting a page, opening a policy, signing in or using a browser-only workspace is not recorded as your authenticated acceptance of new Terms. A paid subscription requires a separate purchase confirmation. Accepting these Terms does not authorise a new charge, optional analytics, access to additional Notes or wider permissions for an assistant.
You can start using the local workspace without an account. Account-based features require accurate account information and a supported sign-in method. Protect your credentials and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorised access. Do not share credentials to evade plan limits; use authorised connections for external clients instead. You may transfer your account or your rights under these Terms to someone else only with our written agreement.
You may not use ThreadPage in breach of sanctions or export-control laws that apply to you or to us. You confirm that you are not a person with whom such laws prohibit us from dealing, and that you do not act for one. We cannot sell paid plans where Paddle does not sell them, and providers we depend on may restrict access from some places under the laws that apply to them. Where sanctions or export-control law requires it, we restrict access as the section “Service changes and suspension” explains.
Parental control protections, such as computer hardware, software or filtering services, are commercially available and may help limit access to material that is harmful to minors.
3. The service
ThreadPage is a private workspace for ongoing streams of thought and work. Threads contain chronological Notes and can be organised into Folders. Notes support the rich content currently offered in the application, including text, lists, tables, images and references.
You can share a Thread or a Folder with other people. A shared place is not private: the section “Shared places” explains who can read it and what they can do.
ThreadPage also offers Community, a public place on our website where people suggest improvements to ThreadPage, report problems and share feedback. The section “Community” applies to it.
The service currently offered is the web application. ThreadPage offers a local workspace and account-based features. Cloud storage, Sync and Model Context Protocol (MCP) connections depend on the features enabled for your account. Before you buy, we show the features, plan limits and billing terms of the plan you choose. Your subscription pays for the ThreadPage features identified in your offer, not for an external AI model. Fees charged by your AI provider, its applications or its execution environment are separate.
Pro includes agent requests to ThreadPage through its supported MCP integration. Pro has no monthly request allowance, and we do not sell extra request credits or impose automatic request-overage charges for it.
Reasonable technical limits may regulate request frequency, including the number and size of changes a connection or an account can make per minute or per day, as well as concurrent operations, response sizes and file handling, to protect reliability and prevent abuse. These are not a concealed monthly request allowance. A temporary technical limit does not require you to buy request credits. We will not treat an ordinary request volume, by itself, as authority to charge more.
Roadmaps are not promises of future features. This does not affect what we state in our offer or advertising, or a trial or preview we made available before you bought, which can form part of what we must supply. Native mobile applications, audio recording, transcription, an AI-model subscription and agent hosting or scheduling are not included unless expressly offered in the purchase description.
A compatible browser and sufficient local storage are required. Network features require an internet connection and may depend on supported third-party interfaces.
4. Local storage, Sync and backups
In local-only mode, your Notes, images and related workspace data remain in that browser’s storage; they are not automatically saved to a ThreadPage server. A local-save status is not evidence of a cloud copy.
Browsers may restrict or remove stored data. Clearing site data, losing a device or using private browsing can make local work unavailable. Browsers, profiles and devices have separate local stores. Keep an independent export of important material, especially before clearing browser data. We cannot restore content that was never transmitted to us and is no longer on your device.
Signing in does not mean that every existing browser Note has been uploaded. Eligible Sync uses the account and source-confirmation choices shown in the application. A confirmed Pro upgrade can start Sync automatically for an established same-owner source, while respecting an explicit Sync Off choice. Content of uncertain browser ownership requires confirmation before being assigned and uploaded.
Turning Sync off stops future synchronisation from that browser; it does not erase existing server copies or revoke an assistant’s separate access. Sync may propagate edits and deletions and is not an independent backup. These explanations do not exclude responsibility for our own failure to meet applicable legal obligations.
5. Your content and connected assistants
You keep all rights you hold in your content; we acquire none of them. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, copy, transmit, display, format, search, convert and otherwise process your content, and to let the providers that run ThreadPage for us do so, only as necessary to provide ThreadPage, carry out your instructions, including delivering content to the connections and services you choose, keep the recovery copies and backups described in the Privacy Policy, handle reports and restrictions as the section “Reports, restrictions and review” describes, and comply with the law. The permission lasts while we hold your content for these purposes and ends when it is deleted from our systems, except for backup copies until they expire and copies the law requires us to keep. It does not let us sell your Notes, publish them for our own purposes or use Note content, including content in shared places, to train general-purpose AI models.
You must have the necessary rights and lawful basis to upload or disclose other people’s information. ThreadPage is not a password vault. Do not store payment-card credentials or use the service for specially regulated information without first establishing that the service and any required agreements meet your obligations.
Business use. If you use ThreadPage for your work or business and your content contains personal information about other people, you, or the organisation you act for, decide why and how that information is processed, and we process it for you as your processor or service provider. If you act for an organisation, you confirm that you may bind it to this paragraph. That information can concern anyone your content is about. We process it only to provide ThreadPage while you use it, including storing, synchronising, displaying, searching, exporting, delivering and deleting it, and to carry out your documented instructions: these Terms, your use and settings of ThreadPage, including the places you share and the connections, webhooks and endpoints you set up, and written instructions you send to [email protected] that ThreadPage can carry out as it works. The information may be processed in the places the Privacy Policy describes, including Ukraine, where we work. Ukraine has no adequacy decision under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or Swiss data-protection law; where that law requires standard contractual clauses for this transfer, we sign them with you as the end of this paragraph describes. We do not process it for any other purpose unless the law requires it, and then we tell you first unless that law forbids it. We tell you if we believe an instruction breaks data-protection law.
We keep the information confidential, and everyone who handles it for us is bound by confidentiality. We protect it with the security measures data-protection law requires, including those the Privacy Policy describes. We use only the providers listed in the Privacy Policy. Each of them processes the information under a written agreement that imposes on it the data-protection obligations that data-protection law requires of a processor, and we remain responsible to you for them. We tell you by email at least 30 days before we start using a new provider to process it, and within five business days after one of our providers tells us that it is adding a provider of its own; if you object and we do not withdraw the change, you may end your contract and we refund any prepaid period you will not use. Services you choose to send content to, such as an assistant you connect or a webhook you configure, are your recipients, not our providers. We help you answer requests from the people the information concerns and meet your obligations on security, breach notification, impact assessments and consultation with supervisory authorities, through ThreadPage’s features and written answers to your reasonable questions; other help you ask for is at a reasonable cost agreed in advance where the law allows a charge, and free where our breach made it necessary. We tell you without undue delay after we become aware of a security breach that affects the information, and we add details as we learn them.
When you delete the information or close your account, we delete it, except copies in backups, which expire within 90 days, and records the law requires us to keep; you can export it at any time before that. We give you the information you reasonably need to check these commitments, first through our documentation and written answers. Where that is not enough, after a breach that affects the information, or where a supervisory authority requires it, we allow an audit with at least 30 days’ notice, or less where the breach or the authority justifies it, carried out remotely where possible. Each of us bears our own costs of an audit, and you also pay our reasonable costs of an audit made only because our documentation was not enough, unless it shows that we materially broke these commitments. Where data-protection law requires a separate written agreement, including standard contractual clauses for transfers, we sign one with you on our standard terms on request at [email protected]. You are responsible for having a lawful basis and the rights needed to give us this information, for informing the people it concerns and for the recipients you choose. The limits for business customers in the section “Responsibility and liability” apply to these commitments, except where data-protection law does not allow them.
An MCP connection receives only the permissions and content scope you approve. These may allow reading, searching, creating, editing or organising content. Folder permissions may include future contents when the authorisation screen says so. Unpublished Drafts and private Recovery material are outside external-client access. A Note Reference does not grant access to an otherwise restricted target. Subscription changes do not broaden a connection's permissions.
Review permissions before connecting an assistant. You can narrow or revoke access in Connections. Revocation stops subsequent access through that connection, but cannot recall data already received by the external provider.
External assistants and other services you connect, including those that use a token, receive webhooks or Requests from ThreadPage or add Notes through an endpoint, have their own terms, charges, data practices and execution environments. We deliver content to them, and accept content from them, only within the permissions and settings you choose, and we treat the operations a connection performs within those permissions as your instructions. ThreadPage does not promise to run them continuously, schedule their work or control what they do with content they receive. Review their changes before relying on them. We remain responsible for the access controls, delivery and other obligations we provide.
ThreadPage does not provide or run AI models. If you publish content an assistant wrote, the law may require you to say so. ThreadPage marks the Notes that a connection added or edited.
6. Plans and prices
Our standard ThreadPage Pro subscription prices are:
| Plan | Payment | Billing interval |
|---|---|---|
| Pro Monthly | USD 7.99 | Every month |
| Pro Annual | USD 79.99 | Every year |
The standard consumer prices above are tax-inclusive. Paddle identifies the taxes and final payable amount before you confirm. A lawful tax exemption or an explicitly offered currency variation is reflected in the total shown before purchase. Annual payments cover the full year upfront, not monthly instalments. The actual currency, tax treatment, amount due now and future recurring amount are disclosed before you authorise payment. Your bank or payment provider may apply its own currency-conversion charges; these are not ThreadPage fees. Existing accepted offers are not silently repriced by this table.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the agreed interval unless cancelled. Before your initial purchase, checkout identifies the amount, interval and automatic-renewal arrangement you are authorising. Unless you have cancelled, we email your account address about 40 days and again about 20 days before each annual renewal and, for a monthly plan, about 10 days before a renewal payment at least once every six months, with the date, the amount and how to cancel. Paddle may also send its own reminders. Renewals under an unchanged arrangement do not require another acceptance of the same Terms.
Before you subscribe, next to the button that takes you to payment, we show the key information about your subscription: what you pay and how often, that it renews until you cancel, the least you will pay, how to cancel, when we send reminders, and your withdrawal and refund rights. What we say there about price, renewal, cancellation and reminders is part of your contract. The full information is in these Terms, the Refund Policy and Billing help.
An increase in the agreed price or a change in billing interval requires a separate, explicit confirmation showing the new amount, interval and first affected renewal. Accepting general Terms is not permission for an undisclosed charge. We give at least 30 days' notice of a proposed price increase, or a longer period where required by law, and never reprice an already paid period. If you have not answered by about 14 days before the first renewal the new price would affect, we remind you. If you do not confirm, we will not charge the increased price or change the billing interval. Your subscription then continues on the existing terms until you cancel it or we end it: we may end future renewals by telling you at least 30 days before the next renewal date, or earlier where the law requires, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
After your purchase, Paddle emails you a receipt, and we email you a confirmation of your plan, its price and its renewal date. The versions of these Terms and the Refund Policy that apply to your purchase are those published when you buy, and our confirmation email includes a copy of both. We do not send a separate email when you accept the Terms; earlier versions remain available through Legal updates. A new purchase or plan change must not create a second unintended subscription. Any separately offered upgrade states when it takes effect and any additional charge before you confirm it.
Paid access is activated after the payment and account entitlement are verified. Contact support if you were charged but access has not appeared. We do not take away an already paid period merely because a later renewal fails; the section “Failed renewal” explains what happens when a renewal payment fails. The Refund Policy explains what happens to Pro if you dispute a payment with your bank or card provider.
Plan limits can cover storage, file size, request volume or request rate. We show the limits of the plan you choose before you buy, and the technical limits described in the section “The service” also apply. There are no automatic overage charges without a separate purchase authorisation. Reaching a limit or cancelling does not instruct your browser to erase Notes.
7. Free trial
If a Pro trial is offered, it lasts 14 days from the moment you start it, requires no payment method, ends automatically and does not convert into a paid subscription. One trial is available per email address, even across accounts: an account cannot start a trial if it, or another account with the same email address, has already had a trial or a paid Pro subscription. A closed account counts only if it had a trial and was closed less than 12 months ago. During the trial, Pro features apply, including the image-storage allowance. When the trial ends without a subscription, your account returns to Free and the section “When Pro ends” applies; nothing is deleted by the end of a trial. We may change or withdraw the trial offer for trials not yet started; this does not affect a trial already running.
For this rule, addresses count as the same when they differ only in ways that the email provider ignores when delivering mail: capital letters; in a Gmail address, dots before the @ and googlemail.com instead of gmail.com; and a +tag, as in [email protected], in addresses at gmail.com, googlemail.com, outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com, msn.com, proton.me, protonmail.com, protonmail.ch, pm.me, yandex.com, yandex.ru, ya.ru, yandex.by, yandex.kz, fastmail.com, fastmail.fm, mailbox.org, posteo.de and posteo.com.
If you buy Pro during a trial, the trial ends when the paid subscription starts and the paid period begins on the payment date; remaining trial days are not added to it.
8. Image storage
Pro includes 5 GB (5,000,000,000 bytes) of image storage. One GB means 1,000,000,000 bytes.
We do not sell additional storage as a separate purchase. If you need more than 5 GB, contact [email protected]. Storage is measured using the original image objects retained for your account, including images in Trash and in accessible versions; reusing the same stored original in several Notes does not multiply its size; internal thumbnails and technical backup copies do not count. The maximum supported size of an individual image is 20 MiB.
Images that participants add to your shared places count toward your image storage. When your image storage reaches 90% of your allowance, participants cannot add new images to your shared places, but they can still add and edit text; you can still add images up to the limit.
If you reach your image-storage limit, new growth of cloud image storage pauses. Existing images, text writing, export and removal are not blocked merely because the limit is reached. An image waiting for cloud upload may remain only in your browser; a local-save status does not claim a cloud copy.
9. Failed renewal
If an automatic renewal of a previously paid Pro subscription fails, Pro remains available for up to seven days from the original renewal due time while the payment provider retries the payment and you update your payment method. This is not a paid renewal and not a new trial; repeated payment attempts or notifications do not restart the seven days. If the payment is still unresolved after seven days, your account returns to Free and the section “When Pro ends” applies. Paddle may keep retrying the payment after that until the subscription is cancelled. If a later attempt succeeds, Pro returns for the rest of the billing period that payment covers, which still runs from the original renewal date; days without Pro are not added, and you can ask for a refund of that payment under our Refund Policy. You can stop the retries at any time with Cancel subscription; Pro then ends at once, including during the seven days, because that period was never paid. A failed first purchase does not create this period.
10. Cancellation and refunds
You can stop renewal at any time: with Cancel subscription in Account → Plan & billing; with Manage subscription there, which opens Paddle’s customer portal; through the management link in your Paddle receipt or Paddle support; or by sending an unambiguous request to [email protected]. An email to [email protected] that you send before the renewal time counts as cancelling in time, even if we read it afterwards. The website's Billing help page provides the available cancellation and withdrawal routes. You do not have to give a reason for ordinary cancellation or accept a retention offer first.
Ordinary cancellation stops future renewals. Pro remains available until the end of the period already paid for, unless a refund or another lawful adjustment ends that coverage earlier. Cancelling does not delete your Notes or images and does not require you to delete anything first. A pending request does not establish a completed cancellation. We confirm the cancellation and the date Pro ends by email to your account address: within 24 hours when you cancel in ThreadPage or in Paddle’s customer portal, and within two business days after we receive your email when you cancel by email. If we receive an identifiable cancellation request before a renewal is processed but that renewal is nevertheless charged because of a processing delay, we arrange correction of that charge. Additional information reasonably needed to identify a request does not permit us to disregard an otherwise valid cancellation. When Pro ends, the section “When Pro ends” applies.
Closing a tab, signing out, disabling Sync or disconnecting an assistant does not cancel a subscription. A confirmed request to close your ThreadPage account also cancels your subscription: Pro ends when the account closes, and closing does not refund the rest of the period you paid for, unless the Refund Policy or the law gives you a refund. The closing confirmation tells you this before you close.
Cancellation is different from a refund or statutory withdrawal. Our Refund Policy provides a full first-payment refund within 14 calendar days and a full refund of an annual renewal payment requested within 14 calendar days or of a monthly renewal payment requested within 7 calendar days, subject to its fraud and duplicate-reimbursement protections. Any more favourable mandatory or applicable Paddle protection remains available. A refund or reversal can affect access associated with that payment, but not a later separately paid period.
11. When Pro ends
When paid, trial or courtesy access ends, your account returns to Free. Content within the Free allowance remains available under Free. Free currently has no cloud allowance.
If your cloud content exceeds the Free allowance, the cloud copy becomes read-only: you can read, download, export and remove it and make changes that do not increase its size; new cloud growth is paused; writing in your browser continues. Downloading a complete backup never requires payment, acceptance of unrelated terms or marketing consent; account-security checks still apply.
We do not automatically delete an over-limit cloud copy. We may remove an over-limit cloud copy only if all of the following are true: at least 90 days have passed since your account returned to Free; we have sent a notice to your verified account email at least 30 days before the removal date, and a reminder about seven days before it; and on the removal date the copy still exceeds the Free allowance and no Pro access is active. If we remove it, we remove the entire affected cloud workspace copy, including its Notes, Threads, Folders, original images and server-held drafts, recovery material and versions; we do not keep a selected part. Your account, independent browser-only work, locally retained copies and backups you have downloaded are not affected. Restoring Pro or reducing the cloud copy within the allowance before the removal date cancels the removal. After an actual removal, paying for Pro does not recreate the removed content; you can create a new cloud copy and import a backup you hold.
This removal right applies only under an agreement that includes it. If your account's accepted Terms are an earlier version without it, we will not use it for your account unless you have accepted a version that contains it; until then, the retention terms of the version you accepted continue to apply.
Your shared places stay readable for the people you shared them with while the cloud copy exists, but nobody can add or edit notes in them until Pro is active again. In your shared places, you can still see who has access, remove people, turn link access off and stop sharing. Removing an over-limit cloud copy also removes your shared places, and their links stop working.
A browser preview or a link to a cloud image does not prove that the original file is saved on your device. Download a complete backup to keep content outside our cloud service.
12. Acceptable use
Do not use ThreadPage for unlawful content or activity, infringement of others’ rights, malware, unauthorised access, fraud, interference with the service or evasion of security and usage limits.
These rules also apply to everything you add to a shared place and to everything you make available by sharing a place. Do not use shared places to send unwanted invitations, to harass people or to collect other people's names and email addresses.
In Community, the rules in the section “Community” also apply.
Content we do not allow. Do not store or share child sexual exploitation or abuse material. Do not store or share material that advocates, incites or instructs in terrorism or serious violence, or that depicts extreme crime, cruelty or violence, such as torture or sexual violence, in order to promote or glorify it or without any other justification. Keeping such material, other than child sexual exploitation or abuse material, to document or report a crime, or for news, research, education or legal proceedings, is a justification where the law allows it. Do not share anything through a shared place that is illegal where it is made available, including material that promotes or instructs in crime, violence or the use of illegal drugs. Do not add pornographic content, or content that encourages or assists suicide, self-harm or eating disorders, to a shared place. Do not give access to a shared place you own to people you expect to use it for such material. If you own a shared place, you must make sure that the people you share it with, and anyone who opens it through a link you create, do not use it for material that this paragraph does not allow. If these rules are broken, we act as the section “Reports, restrictions and review” explains and, where the law requires it, we report the matter to the authorities.
We may apply proportionate technical rate limits to protect availability. An MCP request limit may stop an external client’s operations without preventing ordinary local writing. Lawful export of your own content is not prohibited. Plan restrictions do not authorise unrelated deletion of your content.
Our rights and your permission to use ThreadPage. ThreadPage’s software, website, design, documentation and the other materials we provide belong to us or our licensors; these Terms do not transfer any of those rights to you. While these Terms apply, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide permission to access and use ThreadPage for your personal purposes or the internal purposes of your business or organisation, including by running its web application in your browser and keeping it on your device for offline use, and by downloading the ThreadPage skill and the other documentation we publish for assistants and installing them in the assistants you use with ThreadPage. Separate open-source licences govern the material distributed under them, and nothing in these Terms limits the rights those licences give you.
Except to the extent the law allows it despite this paragraph, for example to make the software work with another program, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent or sublicense ThreadPage or its software, or offer ThreadPage to others as your own service; decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer its software; remove or change its copyright or licence notices; or circumvent its access controls or limits. Access ThreadPage by automated means through the connections, exports and interfaces we provide for that purpose, and do not use other automated access in a way that circumvents limits or places an unreasonable load on the service.
The ThreadPage name and logo identify our service, and we reserve our rights in them. These Terms do not grant a separate licence to use them as the branding of another product or service, but do not restrict uses that applicable law permits.
13. Export, deletion and account closure
Use the available export controls to keep a copy of your work. You can request account closure or personal-data erasure through the available account controls or by contacting [email protected]. We may reasonably verify ownership before releasing private content, closing an account or erasing data. You do not have to buy Pro or accept new Terms to make these requests.
Moving to another service. You can export your Folders, Threads, Notes, Drafts, Archive, Trash, recovery copies and original images at any time with Export backup in Settings → Import & export: a ZIP archive with a JSON manifest and your original images, in a machine-readable format. If your workspace, a Folder or a Thread is too large for one archive, Export backup, Export folder or Export thread tells you so; you can export smaller parts where that is possible, or ask us and we provide the export free of charge within 30 days. The export does not include earlier saved versions of Notes, the record of which connection added or edited a Note, the status of requests to recipients, or your account, connection and app settings. We do not charge for exporting your data, for retrieving it or for helping you move, and there is no notice period for ending your use of ThreadPage. If you ask us for help moving, we act without undue delay and within 30 days. Content that is erased is removed from our active systems, and its backup copies expire within 90 days after that, unless a specific legal hold applies, as the Privacy Policy explains.
Trash is not necessarily permanent erasure. Versions, Recovery material, images used in several Notes and backups have the separate retention rules explained in the Privacy Policy. A valid erasure request is not refused merely because an ordinary history-retention period has not expired.
We distinguish account closure, content erasure, subscription cancellation and a refund. We explain the requested actions and coordinate them without forcing you to repeat the same information. Before an irreversible closure, the confirmation identifies the effect on account content and renewals and provides an export opportunity. Closing the account does not by itself grant a refund of a valid past charge.
A refund, an expired subscription, a refused optional permission or a decision not to accept a proposed material change does not automatically erase local Notes. We preserve available reading, export, support and statutory retrieval rights even when a paid network feature is unavailable. Retained cloud content does not imply an indefinite free cloud-storage promise, but an over-limit cloud copy is removed only under the section “When Pro ends”, never by an unannounced deletion on downgrade. Any later lawful service closure or other planned retention change must follow the notice and retrieval protections in these Terms.
Closing your account erases your shared places, including what participants added to them, and their links stop working. Copies that other people made of a shared place stay with them. If you contributed to a shared place someone else owns, your contributions stay in that place after you close your account and are shown as added by a former participant; we do not keep your name with them. The Privacy Policy explains how to ask for the erasure of your contributions to a shared place.
Closing your account does not remove your posts and comments in Community unless you choose to delete them when you close it. The section “Community” explains what stays and how it is shown.
Account erasure cannot recall exports or information already supplied to an independent provider and cannot guarantee immediate removal from an offline device. We apply deletion instructions to our systems and relevant processors, subject only to proportionate, lawful retention exceptions.
If these Terms end. Provisions that by their nature outlast our contract continue to apply, including those on exporting and erasing your content, refunds and other amounts already due, responsibility and liability, feedback, and applicable law.
14. Service changes and suspension
We provide ThreadPage with reasonable care and skill and comply with applicable digital-service requirements. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every browser, an enterprise service-level agreement or recovery of every historical version. These qualifications do not remove responsibility for our breach or mandatory remedies.
Your legal guarantee. ThreadPage, free or paid, must conform to our contract with you. If you are a consumer in the EU or the EEA, the law gives you a legal guarantee of conformity for digital services, and consumers elsewhere can have similar statutory rights; for example, in the UK digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for a particular purpose and as described, and services must be performed with reasonable care and skill (Consumer Rights Act 2015, Part 1). These Terms do not affect those rights. We supply ThreadPage in conformity throughout the period of supply, including the security and other updates needed to keep it in conformity. If ThreadPage is not in conformity, you may ask us to put it right free of charge and within a reasonable time. If we cannot or do not, you may ask for a proportionate price reduction or end the contract; we then refund the part of the price for the time it was not in conformity and any prepaid period you will not use, within 14 days after you tell us, and you can retrieve your content free of charge in a machine-readable format.
Apart from the price and trial rules in the sections “Plans and prices” and “Free trial” and the discontinuation rules below, we may change ThreadPage beyond what is needed to keep it in conformity only for one of these reasons: security or preventing abuse; a legal or regulatory requirement or an order of a competent authority; a change made by a provider, platform or third-party interface we depend on, including a change to its terms or its withdrawal; compatibility with browsers, operating systems or devices; replacing a feature with one that serves the same purpose; or improving or extending the service without reducing what your plan includes. Such a change costs you nothing extra, and we tell you about it clearly. If it affects your access to or use of ThreadPage negatively, and not only in a minor way, we tell you at least 30 days in advance, by email if you have an account, what changes and when; only the narrow exception in the next paragraph allows less notice. You may then end the contract free of charge within 30 days after the notice or the change, whichever is later, with a refund of any prepaid period you will not use; where we can, we offer instead to let you keep the service unchanged at no extra cost.
Where urgent security or a binding legal requirement makes 30 days’ notice impossible, we explain the change as soon as lawfully possible and limit it to what is necessary. That exception does not allow an undisclosed price increase, retrospective removal of rights or reuse of private content for an unrelated purpose.
We preserve existing prepaid rights. Where a lawful change cannot be supplied under the existing arrangement, our notice explains the available continuation or termination route and the applicable refund and content-retrieval remedy. Any greater statutory termination right remains available.
We may restrict your access to ThreadPage or to a feature, proportionately and for no longer than necessary, if you materially breach these Terms, if there is a credible security threat, if we reasonably suspect fraud, unauthorised use of your account or abuse of payment protections while we investigate, or if the law requires it. If the breach is serious or repeated, or the fraud is confirmed, we may end these Terms with you and close your account. Before we restrict or end your access, we explain the reason and, where the matter can be resolved, give you a reasonable opportunity to resolve it, unless an urgent threat or the law prevents advance notice; then we explain afterwards. A person reviews any request for review you send through support.
Restricting access does not by itself delete your content. While your whole account is restricted, you can still cancel your subscription, withdraw from a purchase, ask for a refund and ask for a copy of your content by writing to [email protected], and we keep sending you the emails about your subscription that these Terms promise. If the restriction ends without a finding that you broke these Terms or the law, we refund the paid time it took from you. Before we close your account, we give you a reasonable opportunity to export your content, unless the law prohibits it, the content itself is illegal or doing so would create a security risk; if we close your account for a reason other than your breach, we refund any prepaid period you will not use. A complaint, refund request or refusal of optional analytics is not by itself abuse. When we restrict access because content or conduct breaks the section “Acceptable use”, the section “Reports, restrictions and review” also applies.
Consumers in Québec. In the next paragraph, the notice period is at least 60 days for you, as the section “If you live in Canada” says.
If we discontinue a paid service for reasons unrelated to your breach, we give at least 30 days' notice where lawfully and practically possible, provide a reasonable export opportunity and arrange a refund of the unused prepaid portion through Paddle. Any greater mandatory remedy is preserved.
15. Responsibility and liability
Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any obligation, liability or remedy that cannot lawfully be limited.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or if both of us knew, when you accepted these Terms, that it might happen. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, unless the law of the country where you live makes us responsible for it. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights described in the section “Service changes and suspension”, our liability for defective products or any other liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Storage and backup warnings do not remove rights arising from our own failure.
Events outside our control. We are not responsible for a delay or failure in performing these Terms to the extent it is caused by an event outside our reasonable control, such as war, military action or measures taken because of them; damage to or outages of public power, communications or internet infrastructure; a cyberattack we could not reasonably have prevented; a natural disaster or epidemic; or an act of a government or authority. If such an event affects ThreadPage, we tell you as soon as we reasonably can, take reasonable steps to limit its effect and resume as soon as we can. If it prevents you from using Pro for more than 14 days in a row, you may end your subscription and receive a refund of any prepaid period you will not use. This does not affect your right to a price reduction or refund for a period in which we did not supply what you paid for, or your other statutory rights.
Services we do not control. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, availability or terms of services that we do not provide and that do not act for us, such as Paddle’s checkout and payment services, your AI assistant and other services you connect, the recipients of content you send, and your browser, device, operating system and internet connection, except to the extent our own breach of these Terms caused the loss. The providers that help us run ThreadPage, such as our hosting providers, act for us, and we remain responsible for them as the law provides. We are not liable for content that owners or participants add to a shared place, except where we are responsible for it under these Terms or the law. The same applies to what other people post in Community.
Business customers. In these Terms, a business customer is anyone who uses ThreadPage wholly or mainly for the purposes of their trade, business, craft or profession, or for an organisation, unless the law of the country where they live treats them as a consumer for this contract. The paragraphs for business customers in this section and in the section “Applicable law and contact” do not apply to customers in Australia or New Zealand.
If you are a business customer, then to the extent the law allows, ThreadPage is provided as described in these Terms, and all other warranties, conditions and terms, whether express or implied by statute, common law or otherwise, including as to satisfactory quality, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are excluded. Neither party is liable to the other for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for any indirect or consequential loss, however caused. Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with these Terms or ThreadPage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited to the greater of USD 100 and the total amount you paid for ThreadPage in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the first claim.
If you are a business customer, you will compensate us for the losses, fines, damages and reasonable costs, including reasonable legal fees, that we incur because of a claim by a third party or an authority arising from your content, the instructions you or your connections give through ThreadPage, or your breach of these Terms or the law. We tell you promptly about such a claim, let you take part in its defence and do not settle it without consulting you. The exclusion of loss of profit and indirect loss above does not apply to this obligation.
These business limits do not restrict mandatory liabilities, refund obligations, rights that a consumer-guarantee law gives a business customer, liability that data-protection law does not permit us to limit, or liability for a breach of the section “Acceptable use” or an infringement of the other party’s intellectual property rights.
16. Versions, updates and your choices
Versions. Each published document has a version label and publication information. Legal updates keeps every earlier published version and shows a short summary of each change and the date it takes effect, including any later date for existing accounts. Account → Legal shows the versions of these Terms and the Refund Policy that you last accepted, the current version when it differs, and any material change we have told you about, with its date. We do not alter earlier published text or record an acceptance you did not give.
What this section covers. This section explains how we change the text of these Terms and the Refund Policy. Changes to ThreadPage itself follow the section “Service changes and suspension”. When we make a change that section allows, we update the description of ThreadPage in these Terms to match it under that section’s rules on notice and ending the contract, not under this section. A higher price or a different billing interval always needs your separate, explicit confirmation, as the section “Plans and prices” explains, and accepting changed Terms never gives it. The Privacy Policy is not part of this contract and we never ask you to accept it: we tell you about changes to it as it explains, and where the law requires your consent to a new use of your information, we ask for that consent separately. Where these Terms rely on the Privacy Policy, as the paragraph “Business use” in the section “Your content and connected assistants” does for our providers, a change to it follows that paragraph.
Changes that need nothing from you. We may correct spelling, formatting or links, explain a provision without changing its legal effect and update our contact details. We may also describe a new optional feature, change the standard prices and the trial we offer for future purchases and trials, and make changes that only add to your rights or make one of our commitments more favourable to you. A price you have already agreed changes only as the section “Plans and prices” explains, and a feature’s additional terms apply to you only after you accept them. Such a change takes effect when we publish it. We record a short summary in Legal updates and, if the change is significant, also tell you in ThreadPage or by email. An added protection never takes away a more favourable earlier right.
Changes we may make with notice. We may also change these Terms or the Refund Policy without asking for your agreement, but only for one of these reasons: to comply with a change in the law, with a regulator’s guidance or with a decision of a court or authority; to protect ThreadPage and the people who use it against security risks, fraud or abuse; or to reflect a change made by a provider, platform or third-party interface we depend on. A change of this kind can affect you only in a minor way. It never increases what you pay, reduces what your plan includes or restricts your ordinary lawful use of ThreadPage. It never changes how or when your subscription renews or the reminders we send before a renewal, and it never limits your rights to cancel, withdraw, get a refund, close your account, or export or erase your content. It never widens the rights we have in your content or your personal information, and never shortens a notice period or time limit that these Terms give you. It never gives us a new or wider right to suspend or restrict your account or a feature, to end or transfer your contract, or to restrict, remove or delete content. It never reduces our responsibility to you, increases your liability to us, changes the law or the courts that apply to you as a consumer, or changes this section or the section “If you live in Canada”. These limits do not prevent a change that the law, a court or an authority requires, to the extent that it requires it.
If such a change could put you at any disadvantage, we tell you by email, if you have an account, at least 30 days before it takes effect: what changes and why, the date it takes effect, how the changed text read before and what you can do, including how to cancel. You may object by writing to [email protected] before that date. The earlier text then keeps applying to you, unless the law requires the change. Within 90 days after that date, we may instead end your contract by telling you at least 30 days in advance; we then refund any prepaid period you will not use and let you export your content before your account closes. You may also end your contract free of charge before the change takes effect or within 30 days after it, and we refund any prepaid period you will not use. If you have not objected before that date, the change applies to you from that date; our notice reminds you of this. If you are a consumer in Germany, a change of this kind applies to you only once you accept it explicitly. A change that only the law or an urgent security need requires can take effect sooner, under the narrow exception in the section “Service changes and suspension”.
Material changes need your agreement. Any other change to these Terms or the Refund Policy that is adverse to you is a material change. It requires an explanation, at least 30 days’ advance notice unless the narrow security or legal exception in the section “Service changes and suspension” applies, and your explicit agreement before it governs your contract. A longer statutory notice period prevails. We send the notice by email with a copy of the changed text that you can save. If you agree before the notice period ends, for example when you buy or start a trial, the change governs your contract from your agreement. For a material change, sending or opening an email, silence, closing a notice, an assistant’s call or reading saved Notes is never agreement.
Until you agree to a material change, the version that governs your contract keeps governing it. A paid subscription bought under that version keeps renewing on those terms until you or we end it. Where we cannot continue a future period under the existing arrangement, we tell you at least 30 days before the renewal date and stop that renewal rather than charge you under terms you have not accepted; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for. A new purchase or trial uses the current Terms, so it asks for your agreement first. From the date in our notice, other steps that start something new, such as starting cloud Sync for the first time or connecting an assistant, may also ask for it, unless you still have a paid Pro period from a subscription bought under an earlier version. Declining never erases content and never prevents reading, export, cancellation, refund or withdrawal requests, privacy-rights requests, account closure or sign-out.
Additional terms for some features. An optional feature may have additional terms: a section of these Terms that is named after the feature and says that it is the feature’s additional terms, together with any sentence in another section that names the feature and applies only to it. Additional terms apply to you only after you have accepted them. We ask you to accept them before you first use the feature, unless you have already accepted a version of these Terms that contains them.
Additional terms govern only your use of their feature. Accepting them changes nothing else in your contract, unless the step that asks for them also shows a newer version of these Terms and asks you to accept it too. Not accepting them, or no longer using the feature, does not affect your subscription, your other features or your content outside the feature. For their feature, additional terms prevail over the rest of these Terms where the two differ. They never take away a right that the law gives you, a right that the section “If you live in Canada” gives you or a right that the rest of these Terms gives you outside that feature.
We change additional terms in the same way as the rest of these Terms. Until you agree to a material change to them, the earlier version keeps governing your use of the feature, including what you added to it before, and we ask for your agreement before you next use the feature for something new after the date in our notice. If we cannot keep the earlier version for you, we may end your use of the feature by telling you at least 30 days in advance. Declining never limits leaving the feature, removing what the feature lets you remove, exporting what is yours or anything outside the feature.
A change to these Terms never broadens an assistant’s permissions, turns Sync on against your explicit choice or authorises an optional processing purpose.
17. Applicable law and contact
Consumers in Québec. The next paragraph, which chooses Ukrainian law, does not apply to you. Québec law, including the Consumer Protection Act, governs your contract with us, and you may bring a dispute before the courts of Québec.
Ukrainian law governs these Terms.
If you are a business customer, Ukrainian law governs any dispute or claim, whether contractual or non-contractual, arising out of or in connection with these Terms or ThreadPage, and the courts of Ukraine have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim.
If you are a business customer, these Terms, the documents they incorporate and the information shown before you subscribe form the entire agreement between us about ThreadPage, and you do not rely on any statement or promise that they do not contain. This does not limit liability for fraud.
If you are a consumer, whatever law governs these Terms, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim against us in the courts of the country where you live. Paddle’s separate purchase contract has its own governing law and courts.
Australia. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
• to cancel your service contract with us; and
• to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.
New Zealand. The Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 may apply to your purchase. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits them.
Send questions or complaints to [email protected]. We acknowledge a complaint within 5 working days, look into it, tell you how it is going if it takes longer and tell you the outcome without undue delay. An informal complaint is not a prerequisite to exercising a legal right. Reports about content and complaints about our decisions on them follow the section “Reports, restrictions and review”.
If a court or authority decides that a provision of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the other provisions remain in effect. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to these Terms. These Terms impose no mandatory arbitration or waiver of non-waivable rights. Any language rule that mandatory law requires takes precedence.
18. If you live in Canada
These rules apply to you if you are a consumer in Canada. They add to the rest of these Terms and, where they give you more protection, they prevail.
Your province’s law. Nothing in these Terms limits the consumer protection law of your province that cannot be waived.
Québec: changes. If you are a consumer in Québec, a change to the text of this contract that increases your obligations or reduces ours, including a change that the section “Versions, updates and your choices” would otherwise let us make with notice, applies to you only if you accept it explicitly, and no earlier than 30 days after we send you a written notice that sets out only the new or amended clause and, if it replaces one, the clause as it read before, the date the change takes effect and your rights. You may refuse the change and cancel this contract without cost, penalty or cancellation indemnity by telling us no later than 30 days after the change takes effect, and we refund any prepaid period you will not use. A change to ThreadPage itself follows the section “Service changes and suspension”; if you paid for a fixed period, such as a year, such a change never alters the nature of the service, its price or that period before the period ends.
Québec: ending the service. If we decide to end a paid service that has no fixed end date, or to end such a contract with you, including under the sections “Plans and prices” and “Versions, updates and your choices”, we give you at least 60 days’ written notice, unless you have failed to meet your obligations. We do not decide on our own that you have failed an obligation in a way a court could not review.
Québec: disputes. Nothing in these Terms requires you to bring a dispute to arbitration or prevents you from bringing or joining a class action.
19. Reports, restrictions and review
How to report. Anyone, with or without an account, can tell us about content stored in ThreadPage that they believe is illegal or breaks these Terms by writing to [email protected]. In a shared place, anyone can also use Report this page to report the place or a specific note in it. The Report content page explains what a report should contain. In Community, anyone can also use Report… on a post or comment to report it. A report about illegal content should explain why the content is illegal and where it is, give the reporter’s name and email address, and confirm that the reporter believes in good faith that the report is accurate and complete. A report about child sexual exploitation or abuse material does not need a name or email address. We confirm receipt to the email address given, and we tell the reporter our decision and how to challenge it.
How we review. A person reviews every report. We do not scan Notes or images in advance, and we do not use automated tools to detect content or to decide reports; if we ever do, we will describe them in this section before we start. We read only what was reported and what we need to decide. In Community, which is public, posts and comments appear without approval in advance, and the ThreadPage team also reads new ones regularly. We act on reports in a timely, diligent, non-arbitrary and objective way, and when we judge that content is illegal, we remove it or disable access to it swiftly. We look first at reports about child sexual exploitation and abuse, terrorism, threats to someone's life or safety and intimate images shared without consent. While we look at such a report about a shared place, we may turn off its sharing.
Intimate images. If the person shown in an intimate image, or someone acting for them, reports that it was shared without their consent, including an image made or changed with software, we remove it as soon as we reasonably can and in any case within 48 hours of a valid report; while we do, we may first make it unavailable to everyone except the owner of the place where it was shared, for example by turning off the sharing of that place. We also make reasonable efforts to find the same image in other shared places and remove it there too. If we decide not to remove a reported image, the reporter can ask us to look at that decision again quickly.
Copyright. A copyright owner can also send a notice under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act to [email protected], with the information that law requires, as the Copyright complaints page explains, and we handle counter-notices as that law provides. We forward a notice under Canada's Copyright Act to the person who added the material, as that law requires, also when we do not remove the material. In appropriate circumstances we end the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright. We treat an account as a repeat infringer's when we have acted on three notices about different works that were not withdrawn or resolved in the account holder's favour, and we may end an account after one serious or deliberate infringement. A person who knowingly misrepresents that material infringes, or that it was removed by mistake, can be liable for damages.
Restrictions. If content is illegal, we may remove it or disable access to it. If content or conduct breaks the section “Acceptable use”, we may disable access to the content, suspend a feature, restrict the account or, where the section “Service changes and suspension” allows it, close the account. In either case, where the content or conduct is in a shared place, we may also turn off the place's link, stop sharing the place or remove a participant from it. If content or conduct in Community is illegal or breaks the section “Acceptable use” or the Community rules in the section “Community”, we may remove the post or comment or stop the account from posting, commenting and voting in Community. When we become aware of terrorism content or child sexual exploitation and abuse content in Community, we remove it swiftly and stop the account that posted it from using Community. Stopping an account from using Community does not affect the rest of the account; for serious or repeated breaches, we may also restrict or close the account under the section “Service changes and suspension”. We act proportionately, taking into account the rights and interests of everyone involved, including freedom of expression and privacy.
Reasons. When we restrict your content or your account, we email you at the latest when the restriction takes effect, unless the law or a risk to someone’s safety prevents it. In a shared place, we email the owner and any participant whose content we restricted. In Community, we email the author of the post or comment, and when we rely on one of the Community rules, the email names the rule and the version of these Terms that contains it; when we merge a post into another, its author gets such an email too. The email says what we did, where it applies and for how long; the facts we relied on and whether we acted on a report or on our own initiative; the law or the section of these Terms we relied on and why we think it applies; that we used no automated means to decide; and how to challenge the decision. We do not tell you who reported the content unless the reporter agreed or, as with a copyright notice, that is needed to assess the report.
Review and complaints. You, or the person who reported the content, can challenge a decision by replying to our email or by writing to [email protected] within six months. Anyone, with or without an account, can also complain to us at [email protected] that content is illegal; that we are not meeting our duties to protect people from illegal content, to let them report it or to respect freedom of expression and privacy; that we took down their content as illegal; or that we warned, restricted, suspended or banned them because we considered their content illegal. A person reviews every challenge and complaint and tells you the outcome and the reasons. If we reverse a decision, we restore the content or access where we can. You can also go to court, and in the European Union you can complain to the Digital Services Coordinator of your Member State. In Australia, if you are not satisfied with how we handled a complaint that we did not follow the online safety industry standard, we refer it to the eSafety Commissioner at your request.
Authorities and contact points. Authorities, and people who use ThreadPage, can contact us at [email protected], in English or Ukrainian. We tell the police or other competent authorities if we suspect a crime that threatens someone’s life or safety, and we report child sexual exploitation or abuse material where the law requires it. We act on valid orders of competent authorities, including orders to remove terrorist content within the time the law sets, and tell the people concerned unless the order or the law forbids it. Contacts for authorities are also on the Report content page.
20. Feedback and ideas
If you send us feedback, an idea or a suggestion about ThreadPage, with Send feedback or Contact support, by email or in any other way, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable permission to use, copy, modify, adapt, combine and implement it, in ThreadPage or otherwise, to describe it publicly and to let others do these things for us. The permission lasts as long as any rights in your feedback last. We do not have to use or answer your feedback, credit you or pay you, and we may already be working on something similar.
Feedback is not confidential, so do not include confidential information or material that belongs to someone else. The permission does not transfer ownership of your feedback or any other right you hold. We do not publish your message as you wrote it, or your name with it, without your permission. A post or comment in Community is public from the moment you post it, as the section “Community” explains, but outside Community and our emails about its posts we do not publish it as you wrote it, or your name with it, without your permission. To the extent the law allows, you waive your moral rights in your feedback, such as the right to be named as its author or to object to changes, or agree not to assert them, against the uses this section allows; where the law allows neither, you consent to those uses. The Privacy Policy governs the personal information in your feedback.
This section applies to feedback you send after accepting a version of these Terms that contains it. Sending feedback is always optional and does not affect your use of ThreadPage.
21. Shared places
You can share a Thread or a Folder from your cloud copy. We call it a shared place. A shared Folder includes its current and future Threads and Folders. You are its owner; the people who join it are participants. Sharing needs Pro on the owner's account. Participants do not pay and do not need Pro.
This section, together with the sentences in other sections that apply only to shared places, is the additional terms for shared places described in the section “Versions, updates and your choices”. You accept them before you first share a place or join one, unless you have already accepted a version of these Terms that contains them. Reading a shared place through a link needs no account and no acceptance. Adding or editing notes needs an account, so the section “Eligibility and accounts”, including the age of 18, applies to everyone who adds or edits notes.
The owner gives each person one level. Can view lets them read. Can add notes also lets them add notes with images, edit their own notes and move them to the owner's Trash. Can edit also lets them edit any note, the Thread's title and status, and create Threads in a shared Folder. Only the owner can archive, move, pin or trash the place or its Threads, decide who has access, and address the owner's connected assistants and services.
General access is either Restricted or Anyone with the link. With Restricted, only the people the owner added can open the place. With Anyone with the link, anyone who has the link can read the place without signing in. Anyone who has the link can forward it, and we cannot control who receives it. If the link allows adding or editing notes, anyone who gets it can sign in, join and do so. Turning link access off stops the link working; turning it on again creates a new link.
When you add a person by email, we send that address one invitation naming you, the place and the level, unless the address declined invitations, which we then tell you; you need a name on your account to share. The invitation contains no message from you, and we send no reminder. An invitation that nobody opens expires 30 days after we send it. Add only people you know and expect to want the invitation, and only addresses you may give us. Before anyone joins a place or first opens it from an invitation, we tell them that the owner will see their name and email address, that the people of the place will see their name, that everyone with access will see it next to what they add, and that the owner's connected tools can read it. The owner sees the name and email address of every participant.
A shared place is not private. The owner, every participant, anyone with the link while link access is on, and the owner's connections that can access the place can read it, including the owner's name and the names of the people who added or edited each note. Anyone with access can copy text and save images, and those copies stay with them after their access ends. While a signed-in person has access, ThreadPage keeps a copy of the place in their browser to show it, and removes it when it learns that their access ended. The owner's Drafts, Recovery material, Trash and other Threads and Folders are never shared. A participant's own connections cannot access a place shared with them. The owner can remove what participants added, move the place to Trash or erase it at any time; participants who want to keep what they added should copy it.
Your content in a shared place. Participants keep the rights they hold in what they add. By adding content to a shared place, a participant gives the owner and the other people who have access to that place a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to read, copy and quote that content and, as far as their level and the features of the place allow, to edit, delete and export it, for their own personal or internal use. The participant also gives us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to host, back up, secure, copy, display and process that content so that the place works, including to make it available to the people the owner has chosen and to the services and assistants the owner has connected, which act for the owner within the permissions the owner has set, and to review it when it is reported and comply with the law. These permissions last while the content remains in the place or in the owner's library, also after the participant leaves, is removed or closes their account; they end for content that is deleted there or that we erase at the participant's request, as the Privacy Policy explains, except for backup copies until they expire and copies the law requires us to keep. Copies that people made while the content was available may stay with them, for their own personal or internal use only. The permissions do not let anyone publish the content elsewhere, sell it or use it to train general-purpose AI models, and the owner does not acquire the participant's rights.
We show the name of the account that added or edited each note, and participants agree that this is how they are credited. Participants agree that the owner, people with Can edit and the owner's connections, within their permissions, may change what they add. To the extent the law allows, participants waive, or agree not to assert, their moral rights, such as the right to be identified as the author or to the integrity of the work, against the owner, the other people with access and us for the uses this section allows, and anyone those persons authorise for those uses may rely on this; where the law allows neither, participants consent to those uses. Add only content you have the right to add; if you add content for an employer or a client, you confirm that you are allowed to. The section “Your content and connected assistants” also limits what we may do with it.
As the owner, you decide who has access and at which level. You are responsible for who you invite and for what you share, including having the right to share other people's information and any agreement you need with the people you share with, for example when you use a place for your business. Do not give access to anyone under 18. If we learn that a participant is under 18, we permanently delete the notes they added to your places, including other people's edits in those notes and your Drafts and Recovery material tied to them, and the Threads they created there that hold nothing of anyone else and that you have not made your own, while we still have the record that they created them; we do not tell you why. Participants are responsible for what they add. We do not review shared places in advance, we do not endorse what they contain, and we are not a party to arrangements between owners and participants. This does not limit our responsibility for our own breach of these Terms or our duties under the law, including to act on reports of illegal content. Images that participants add count toward your image storage, as the section “Image storage” explains. Technical limits apply to invitations, notes and images in shared places and to reading through a link.
Access changes as follows. Access ends with the person's next request to us; a screen that is already open can keep showing what it loaded.
| When | What happens to access |
|---|---|
| The owner removes a person | That account loses access. It cannot join again through the link until the owner adds it by email. If link access is on, anyone with the link can still read the place. |
| A participant leaves | That account loses access. It can return through the link while link access is on, or when the owner shares the place with it again. |
| An invitation is not opened within 30 days | It expires and no longer opens the place. The owner can send a new one. |
| The owner turns link access off | The link stops working. People who joined through it and have no level set by the owner lose access. |
| The owner stops sharing | Everyone the owner shared the place with loses access. |
| The owner moves a Thread into or out of a shared Folder | People with access to that Folder gain or lose access to that Thread. |
| The owner archives the place | Everyone with access can still read it. Nobody can add or edit notes. |
| The owner moves the place to Trash | Everyone loses access. Restoring it does not share it again. |
| Pro ends or the owner turns Sync off | People with access can still read the place while the cloud copy exists. Nobody can add or edit notes until Pro and Sync are active again. |
| The owner's cloud copy is removed or replaced | Sharing ends and everyone loses access. |
| The owner closes the account | The place and everything in it, including what participants added, are erased. Its links stop working. |
Anyone can report a shared place, or a specific note in it, with Report this page or by writing to [email protected]. The section “Reports, restrictions and review” explains how we handle reports and what we may do.
22. Community
Community, at thread.page/community, is a public place on our website where people post suggestions to improve ThreadPage, problems they ran into and feedback about it, and comment on and vote for posts. Posts and comments are text only, without images or attachments. Community is free and does not need Pro.
This section, together with the sentences in other sections that apply only to Community, is the additional terms for Community described in the section “Versions, updates and your choices”. You accept them before you first post, comment or vote in Community, unless you have already accepted a version of these Terms that contains them. Reading Community needs no account and no acceptance. Posting, commenting and voting need a ThreadPage account with a verified email address, so the section “Eligibility and accounts”, including the age of 18, applies to everyone who posts, comments or votes. We check only that a post, comment or vote comes from such an account; we do not check how long its owner has used ThreadPage or whether they pay for it.
The Community rules. Your posts, comments and votes in Community must follow the section “Acceptable use” and these eight rules. We cite each rule by its name.
About ThreadPage only. Post about ThreadPage: something you would like it to do, a problem you ran into or what you think of it. Questions about your own account, payments or data belong in Contact support, where they stay private. We may remove anything off-topic, and we always remove pornography and anything that encourages or assists suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.
One idea or problem per post. Give each suggestion or problem its own post, with a title that says what it is. If a post about the same thing already exists, vote for it or comment there. We may merge posts about the same thing.
Any language. Write in the language you prefer. We answer in the language of the post when we can, otherwise in English. This rule is a permission: we never remove a post or comment because of the language it is written in.
Be civil. Criticise ideas and the product, not people. No harassment, threats, insults or slurs, and nothing that attacks people for who they are, such as their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.
No private details. Do not post private details about anyone, including yourself: email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, identity documents, payment or account details, passwords, private messages, or anything about another person that they have not made public. For screenshots or anything private, use Send feedback or Contact support instead.
No spam, ads or self-promotion. Do not advertise, promote your own product or service, or post links to bring people somewhere else. Do not post the same thing again and again. Do not post, comment or vote for payment or any other reward, ask others to do so, or use more than one account to post, comment or vote.
Lawful content only. Post only what is lawful and what you have the right to post. No content that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights, defames someone or is otherwise illegal, including under the law of the European Union, an EU Member State or the United Kingdom, such as terrorism content, child sexual abuse material, threats, fraud or scams, and no links to such content. We report child sexual abuse material and threats to someone's life or safety to the authorities where the law requires it.
No impersonation. Do not pretend to be another person, a company or the ThreadPage team. Only people on the ThreadPage team carry the ThreadPage team marker. Names that suggest you speak for ThreadPage, such as a name that contains “ThreadPage” or the names Team, Admin, Moderator and Support, cannot be used.
Your posts and comments. You keep the rights you hold in what you post. By publishing a post or a comment, you give us, and the providers that run ThreadPage for us, a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to host, store, copy, format, display and index it, in full or as its title and an excerpt, and to make it available to anyone in Community, through links and search engines and in our emails to the people who follow the post; to keep it in Community as this section describes, including what stays after you delete a post or close your account; and to review, remove and keep it as the section “Reports, restrictions and review” and the Privacy Policy describe. The permission lasts while the post or comment is in Community or kept after its removal as the Privacy Policy describes, and ends when it is deleted, except for backup copies until they expire and copies the law requires us to keep. It covers only what you post in Community: it gives us no right to sell it or to publish it elsewhere, and no further right in your Notes, your shared places or anything else you keep in ThreadPage. You confirm that you have the right to post what you post and that it follows the Community rules. Anyone can read, link to and quote what you post, as the law allows. The section “Feedback and ideas” applies to the ideas and suggestions in your posts and comments, so that we can use them freely; for your posts and comments as you wrote them, the only permission is the one in this paragraph.
Your public name. Your posts and comments show the name on your account as your public name, never your email address. Before your first post or comment, we show you that name and let you change it. Changing the name on your account changes it on everything you posted.
Answers and statuses. We may answer a post and give a suggestion or a problem a status. Open means we have not decided yet. Planned means we intend to do it, without a date. Done in a version, such as Done in 1.0.2, means the change is in that released version. Not planned means we do not intend to do it, and we say why. Merged means another post covers the same thing; its votes and followers move there. Feedback posts have no status. We are not obliged to answer a post or to build what it suggests. A status describes our intention when we set it: Planned is not a commitment, and when our plans change, we change the status. Statuses, answers and votes add nothing to a purchase or to the features of your plan; the section “The service” describes what a purchase includes.
Votes and updates. Each account has one vote per post and can take it back while the post takes votes; a post stops taking votes when its status becomes Done in a version or Not planned, or when it is merged into another post. Accounts of the ThreadPage team cannot vote. We show only the number of votes, never who voted. When you write, comment on or vote for a post, you follow it: we email you when the team answers there and, as a rule, when its status changes. You can stop these emails for one post, or for all posts with Community updates in Account → Email; once you stop them for a post, they do not start again by themselves. If you take back your vote on a post you did not write or comment on, you stop following it. These emails contain no advertising.
Moderation. Posts and comments appear as soon as they are published. We do not approve them in advance and we do not edit them. We may remove a post or comment that is illegal or breaks the Community rules, close comments on a post, which ends its discussion and is not a decision about anyone’s content or account, so we send no statement of reasons for it, merge a post into another post about the same thing and stop an account from posting, commenting and voting in Community, as the section “Reports, restrictions and review” explains. A post or comment we remove is replaced by a notice that the team removed it, with the name of the rule it broke. If someone breaks the rules seriously or again and again, we may stop their account from posting, commenting and voting in Community; threats, harassment, illegal content and impersonation are serious breaches. We do not remove or hide a post because it criticises ThreadPage, and we decide which posts to answer by how relevant they are, not by whether they are positive or negative. Everything the ThreadPage team writes in Community carries the ThreadPage team marker. Technical limits apply to how many posts, comments and votes an account can add in a period.
Deleting your posts and closing your account. You can edit your own posts and comments and delete them at any time, with these exceptions: a post that was merged into another, and comments on it or on a post whose comments we closed, cannot be edited, and a post or comment we removed can be neither edited nor deleted. A comment you delete is removed. A post you delete is removed for everyone if nobody else commented on it, no other post was merged into it and the team neither answered it nor gave it a status. Otherwise we remove your name and the details you wrote and keep the title, the votes, the comments and the team's answer, including your own comments with your name until you delete them, so that the discussion is not lost; the post then shows Former member and Details removed by the author. When you close your account, your posts and comments stay in Community and show Former member instead of your name, unless you choose Delete my Community posts and comments when you close it; then each of your posts is handled as if you deleted it, and your comments are removed. Your votes stay only in the vote counts. A post or comment we removed stays removed and is kept as the Privacy Policy describes, also after you close your account. Former member does not make your text anonymous: what you wrote can still identify you. Copies that other people or search engines made before you deleted something can remain.
Reports. Anyone, with or without an account, can report a post or comment with Report… or by writing to [email protected]. If you report child sexual abuse material, do not copy or link the material itself. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services first. The section “Reports, restrictions and review” explains how we handle reports, what we may do and how to challenge our decisions.
