Report content
ThreadPage is a hosting service. If you find content in a shared place that you believe is illegal or breaks our Terms of Service, tell us. You do not need an account.
The same applies to posts and comments in Community, our public place for suggestions, problems and feedback, which also has its own Community rules (section 22 of the Terms of Service).
How to report
Use Report this page in the place, or Report… in a note’s menu. You can also write to [email protected]. Tell us what the content is, where it is (the page and, if you can, the note), why it is illegal or against our rules, and your name and email address so that we can tell you our decision. For child sexual abuse material you do not need to give your name or email address. Do not send us the material itself.
In Community, use Report… in the menu of a post or a comment. Anyone can report, with or without an account. If you are signed in, your report comes from your account, and we use its name and email address instead of asking for them. A copyright or intimate-image report still asks for your full name, which you type as your signature. If you report child sexual abuse material, do not copy or link the material itself. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services first.
What we do
A person reviews every report. We confirm receipt, look first at reports about child sexual exploitation and abuse, terrorism, threats and intimate images, and tell you our decision and how to challenge it. When we restrict content, we tell the owner and the author why. We do not tell them who reported it unless you agree. Section 19 of the Terms of Service explains this in full.
In Community, posts and comments appear without approval in advance, and the ThreadPage team also reads new ones regularly. If a post or comment is illegal or breaks the Community rules, we may remove it, close comments on the post or stop the account from posting, commenting and voting in Community. A post or comment we remove is replaced by a notice that the team removed it, with the name of the rule it broke. We email its author what we did and why; when we rely on one of the Community rules, the email names the rule and the version of the Terms of Service that contains it. We tell the author what was reported and what we did, without your name or contact details unless you agreed, except for a copyright notice, which we forward as the Copyright complaints page explains.
Intimate images
If an intimate image or video of you is in a shared place without your consent, including one made or changed with software or AI, choose Intimate image shared without consent. You, or a person authorised to act for you, can report it. Type your full name as your signature, say which image it is, and confirm that it was shared without consent. We remove a valid report within 48 hours and take reasonable steps to remove identical copies in other shared places.
Copyright
Choose Copyright or other intellectual property in Report this page, or send a notice as the Copyright complaints page explains.
In Community, choose it in Report… on the post or comment.
Challenging a decision
Reply to our email within six months, or write to [email protected]. A person looks at it again. In the European Union you can also complain to the Digital Services Coordinator of your Member State.
Australia
The eSafety Commissioner is Australia’s independent regulator for online safety. Its functions include handling complaints about illegal and harmful online material, issuing removal notices and enforcing the Online Safety Act 2021 and the industry standards made under it. You can complain to us if you think we have not followed the Australian online safety industry standard for designated internet services. If you are not satisfied with how we dealt with that complaint, tell us and we refer it to the Commissioner. You can also contact the Commissioner at esafety.gov.au.
For authorities
Member State authorities, the European Commission, the European Board for Digital Services, Ofcom, the eSafety Commissioner and law enforcement can contact us at [email protected], in English or Ukrainian.
