Mum’s care: one of you writes, all of you know

You’re the one nearby, so you write: the new dose with a photo of the label, the X-ray, the pension office’s letter. Your sister and brother read it, and stop asking.

You keep
A folder for Mum with a thread each for her care, money, letters and the house, shared with your sister at Can add notes and your brother at Can view.

The moment
On Sunday your brother opens the folder: the new dose with a photo of the label, the slip in the bathroom, the X-ray, the letter from the pension office. No questions this week.

Before

You live ten minutes away, so the care is yours: the visits, the pharmacy, the letters from the pension office. The doctor’s instructions are a voice message in the family chat, under the birthday photos. Your brother abroad asks the same questions every Sunday, and your sister bought the same medicine you did.

Why a thread, not a group chat and a shared document

  1. One writes, the rest read

It doesn’t need everyone to keep it up. Whoever was there writes, and the others read instead of asking.

  2. Nothing drowns

Care notes stay out of the birthday photos.

  3. The label, not a description of it

The photo of the medicine label sits next to what the doctor said, with the dose table under it.

  4. The admin has a place too

Letters, bills and the boiler get a thread each in the same folder, and Waiting marks whatever is with someone else.

What your brother sees on Sunday: everything you look after for Mum, and where each stands.

  • Appointments stay in your calendar; the thread keeps what was said and decided.
  • Everyone in a shared folder sees every note in it: keep anything only for you in a thread outside it.
