# A research report you’ll need again

ChatGPT or Claude saves its research report as a note among your own. A month later, @GPT tells you what’s still open.

## At a glance

- **For:** Freelancers, consultants and anyone who decides from a long report.
- **You keep:** A thread for each question you research, in the client’s folder.
- **Comes in:**
  - The report, saved by ChatGPT or Claude from your chat.
  - Answers from @GPT or @Claude, on your own API key, when you ask in the thread.
- **The moment:** Five weeks later you ask @GPT what’s still open. It reads the report, Marta’s decision and your question to support, and names two things.
- **Plan:** Pro · From USD 7.99 a month. 14 days free, no card.

## Before

In September you ran deep research in ChatGPT on online orders for a client’s bakery. It came back with twelve pages and fourteen sources. The client decided on a call, and you wrote the decision in a notes app. Five weeks later she asks what you’re still waiting for, and the report is somewhere in your chat history, among eighty other chats.

## Why a thread, not the chat it came from

### The report sits with the decision

The report, Marta’s answer and your question to support are notes in one thread, in the order they happened.

### Ask it again next month

Write to @GPT in the thread. It reads the report and your notes before it answers, and only you see which notes it read.

### Either app can read it

ChatGPT saved it, and Claude can read it through its own connection. The report no longer depends on one chat history.

#### Tue 22 Sept

*After deep research, ChatGPT saves the report as a note.*

via **ChatGPT** · 10:05

Deep research: online orders for a bakery with three shops. 14 sources, linked at the end.

| Option | Monthly fee | Per order | Customer list |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketplace app | €0 | Up to 30% | The marketplace’s |
| Plug-in on your own site | €29 | Card fees | Yours |
| Order form and phone | €0 | Card fees | Yours |

*The decision sits under the report it came from.*

**You** · 12:40

Marta on the phone: no marketplace. She wants her own customer list for the Christmas orders, so we use the plug-in on the new site. Phone orders stay, and someone has to take them on Sundays.

#### Mon 5 Oct

*Waiting on the plug-in’s support. Waiting*

**You** · 16:10

Asked the plug-in’s support what the card fees are on orders under €10. No answer yet.

#### Tue 27 Oct

*Five weeks later, one question to GPT on your own OpenAI key.*

@GPT what in this thread is still open?

*It reads your notes before it answers, and only you see which three it read.*

**From @GPT** · 09:31

Two things are open. The plug-in’s card fees on orders under €10: you asked support on 5 October and haven’t heard back. And who takes phone orders on Sundays, which Marta raised on 22 September.

### The report, saved from your chat

When the report is done, ask ChatGPT or Claude in the same chat to add it to the thread. It arrives as one note, with its tables and links.

#### Set it up

App Read and add Selected folders and threads: Lumen Bakery

2. When the report is done, ask in the same chat: “Add this report to Online orders: options in ThreadPage, with all its links.”

### Ask the thread

#### Set it up

AI model Your OpenAI or Anthropic API key Pro with Sync

1. In **Settings → Connections**, open **AI models**, choose **Claude** or **GPT**, paste an API key from Anthropic or OpenAI and choose **Connect**. AI models need Pro with Sync turned on.
2. In the thread, write `@GPT` and your question, then choose **Send**.

## Also

ChatGPT and Claude each have Projects, which keep chats and files together inside that app. Use a thread when the report has to sit with your own notes and the client’s decisions, where either app can read it.

## Limits

- @GPT and @Claude need an API key from OpenAI or Anthropic, and the provider bills the key for every answer. A ChatGPT or Claude subscription works through the apps instead.
- In a thread you share, a model answers only after you choose Allow here, and then reads only what is shared there.
- ThreadPage sends what a model reads to OpenAI or Anthropic with your key. Notes aren’t end-to-end encrypted.

ChatGPT, Claude, GPT, OpenAI, and Anthropic are the names of their owners. ThreadPage is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
