# Notes on each of your reports

A private thread per person: 1:1s, wins, worries and what each of you promised. When reviews come, the year is already there.

## At a glance

- **For:** Managers with a few direct reports and a 1:1 with each.
- **You keep:** A private Team folder with a thread per person, and for each report an agenda thread you share with them at Can add notes.
- **Nothing to set up:** A few lines after each 1:1, and wins and worries when they happen.
- **The moment:** In October each person’s year is in their thread, dated, so the review starts from what happened instead of the last month you remember.
- **Plan:** Free · Free and private in this browser; export a backup now and then. Sign in to get reminders on this device. Pro to share an agenda with each report and to let your assistant draft.

## Before

Six reports, a 1:1 with each every other week. The notes live in a document per person that grows to forty pages, or in a notebook you can’t search. In October HR wants a review for each of them, and what you remember is the last month. Dana’s fix that support loved in March is gone.

## Why a thread, not a document per person

### Each 1:1 is a dated note

They sit one under the other, so the year reads top to bottom. Search finds “promotion” across the whole team.

### Promises as a checklist

Yours and theirs, ticked at the next 1:1. Set Remind me… for the morning you meet.

### Private notes, a shared agenda

Your notes stay yours. A separate thread shared with the report at Can add notes is where you both add topics before you meet.

## The moment

Monday 2 November, before three 1:1s: where you left each person.

Example list:

- Team · Dana · Edited the draft and sent the promotion case to Elena for the calibration on 4 November. · Waiting
- Team · Luis · Next 1:1: his move to the platform team in January. · Active
- Team · Mei · Back from leave today: plan a lighter first week. · Active

## If you like, let your assistant draft.

None of this is needed to start. It takes a few minutes once, and needs Pro.

### The review, drafted

Your assistant reads one person’s thread and adds a draft review as a note, with the dates behind each point.

#### Set it up

App Read and add Selected folders and threads: Team

1. In **Settings → Connections → Apps**, choose **Connect an app** → **ChatGPT app** or **Claude app** and follow its steps. On ThreadPage’s consent page, choose **Customize access** → **Selected folders and threads** → **Team**. With **Read only** it drafts in the chat instead.
2. Ask: “Read Dana’s thread and draft her review: what she did well and one thing to grow, each with the dated notes behind it. Add it as a note.”

## Limits

- These are your working notes, not an HR record: check your company’s rules on where notes about people may live.
- Share each agenda thread on its own: sharing the Team folder would show every note in it.
- On Free your notes stay in this browser: export a backup now and then.

Your repository’s pull requests file themselves into a thread of their own. You note what git can’t see, and at review time your agent drafts from both.
