# One shared thread per client

Every change of plan has a date and a name. On Fridays, you ask ChatGPT or Claude to draft the client’s update from the week.

## At a glance

- **For:** Freelancers, consultants and small studios.
- **You keep:** A folder per client with two threads: one shared with the client at Can add notes, one only you can see. New briefs land in Leads.
- **Files itself:** Briefs from your website form, in Leads.
- **The moment:** “Why did the launch move?” You send the link to the note from 12 October: the date, the request and the price.
- **Plan:** Pro · From USD 7.99 a month. 14 days free, no card. The client joins free, or reads through a link without an account.

## Before

The brief came by email, the feedback in a shared document, the scope change on a call and the small extra on WhatsApp. When the client questions the invoice in March, you piece the story together from all four, and she remembers it differently.

## Why a thread, not email and a shared document

### One timeline, both voices

Her notes and yours are in order and signed by name. In a document the latest text wins, and the request that changed it is hard to find later.

### She sees one project

Share the thread, and that’s all of your workspace Marta sees.

### A thread only you see

Estimates, call notes and the draft of your weekly update go in your own thread, next to the shared one.

## A thread, over time

Your workspace starts empty.

### Your weekly update, drafted

Ask your assistant to write this week’s update from the shared thread and add it to your own.

Draft for Marta: the shop pages are ready for review; gift cards are agreed and the launch is on 18 December.

#### Set it up

App Read and add Selected folders and threads: Lumen Bakery

1. In **Settings → Connections → Apps**, connect ChatGPT or Claude with **Read and add**, limited to the client’s folder. With Read only it can still draft in the chat.
2. Ask: “Write this week’s update for Marta from the shared thread and add it to the internal thread.”

### Briefs from your website form

Each form your site receives becomes a note in Leads. Start the client’s threads from there.

In Leads

New brief from Marta, Lumen Bakery: three shops, online orders, launch before Christmas.

#### Set it up

Automation Add notes from another app Custom template

1. In **Settings → Connections → Automations**, choose **Connect an automation** → **Add notes from another app**. Name it Website form, and choose **Leads** and **Custom template**.
2. Write the note with placeholders for the form’s fields, such as `{{/data/fields/0/value}}`.
3. Paste the URL into the form’s webhook settings, then send a test submission and read the note it adds. Tally and Typeform send webhooks; other forms can go through Make or n8n.

## Limits

- Everyone in a shared thread sees every note in it: keep estimates and drafts in your own thread.

ChatGPT, Claude, Tally, Typeform, Make, n8n, and WhatsApp are the names of their owners. ThreadPage is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

More use cases

### [A research report you’ll need again](https://thread.page/use-cases/research-report.md)

ChatGPT or Claude saves its research report as a note among your own. A month later, @GPT tells you what’s still open.

Pro · an app and your API key

### [Handing off before you leave](https://thread.page/use-cases/handover.md)

Going on leave? @Claude reads the client’s folder and drafts a handoff with every promised date. You fix what it got wrong and share the folder with Nora.
