# A claim you have to chase

Every call with a name and a reference, the photos and the quotes, in the order they happened. When the adjuster changes, you read out the story instead of rebuilding it.

## Before

In August a storm put the neighbor’s oak through your roof. Since then you’ve explained it to three people at the insurer, booked two roofers and an engineer and taken ninety photos. The reference numbers are in your call history, the quotes in your inbox, the photos among the vacation ones. When you finally complain, the first thing they ask for is the sequence of events.

## Why a thread, not your inbox and your camera roll

### Every call has a name and a reference

Adjusters change. The note from 18 August says who promised what, and when.

### One order for everything

Photos of the damage, the quotes and the adjuster’s emails sit in one thread, in the order they happened.

### The timeline is already written

Copy as text copies the whole thread at once as plain text, ready for a complaint.

### Back on the promised day

Set Remind me… for the date a decision was promised, and the claim comes back to you then.

## A thread, over time

## Also

With Pro, the insurer’s emails can file themselves as text through an email filter, as in [Out of the chats, into the right thread](https://thread.page/use-cases/chat-messages.md).

## Limits

- Search finds a file by its name, not by the text inside it: name a scan after the letter.
- Copy as text copies the text, not the photos: attach those to the complaint yourself.
- Notes can be edited, so the thread is your own record, not certified evidence: keep the original photos too.
